As president of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Big Bend Chapter 96, let it be known that Joe and his company have supported us every time we have asked.

When our chapter brought the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to Tallahassee for a week, Veterans Day 08, it could not have been done without the support and generosity of people like Dr. Abal.

 We proudly listed his name on the sponsor board along with the rest of the community who helped in the great endeavor to show respect for our fallen hero's from the Vietnam War.

There is a plaque presented to Dr. Abal hanging in his office to contest to the fact of his continuing support of the veterans of the Big Bend area.

Dear Dr. Abal:

 The dust has settled from a hectic few months.  Since I can finally take a deep breath, I'd like to take that breath and say thank you for all you did for us in conjunction with our annual fund raiser in November.

Needless to say, we were a little concerned with the economy being as it is, but we made the decision to move forward with our event.  Having just lost our leader, Kay Freeman, and knowing what the event had meant to her, there was no way we could entertain the idea of not having our annual luncheon.  It was on!  You were there with your wonderful team and made the money flow like rain drops.  While we do live in a very generous community, we had concerns.  You were able to make our attendees dig deep in their pockets and give generously.  Some may have left with a little jingle in their pockets, but not too many.  We made more than we had ever made on the live auction lunches.  $800 for one of the entries, that is unheard of!  We can't thank you enough.

We will definitely be in touch with you well in advance of the 2009 luncheon and look forward to working with you again.  Take care.

For the past three years or so I have been trying to sell my property without any positive results. This past Fall I enlisted the services of Dr. Joe Abal and Mrs. Betty Evans of Abal Auction Real Estate.

I want to commend these two auctioneers of real estate for the wonderful job they did on my behalf. After signing the contract to take my property to auction, they told me that they would sell it in 45 days. They advertised the date and they began what they referred to as due diligence and developed a property information package which is a marvelous piece of work that I am keeping as a short history book on the property.

They produced and disclosed every piece of information possible on my property and marketed it extensively as only trained licensed and certified auctioneers could do of real estate.

Of course, the net result was that the property sold. I came out from under a terrible weight of expenses and all the stress and frustration that went with it that could never be measured in dollars.

One thing I never had to stress upon turning over my propoerty to these two auctioneers was the complete and total honesty and trustworthiness for which they worked on my behalf. Not only were they the most honest folks I had encountered but their work was so diligent that they found an error in the property appraiser's record that three previous companies attempting to sell my property had never found.

They corrected the record, prepared the property surveys and today I sit with knowledge that my home is protected. It is properly surveyed and filed with the property appraiser's office and that the property that had become such a burden to me after the death of my hustand, Tommy Shepard, was now sold and a burden had been lifted from me.

Morever, since the auction and my business with Dr. Abal and Mrs. Evans had been concluded, they have remained in contact with me. They continue to offer support, provide information and act on my behalf with business dealings that are a problem to me.

They have remained my auction/real estate consultants, but most important, they have become my friends.

I could not recommend to anyone in Wakulla County any more honest and trustworthy people than Dr. Abal and Mrs. Evans. They were truly outstanding in the work they performed and I want to applaud and congratulate them for the fine effort. I thank them for their hard work and their sincerity and honesty in dealing with me.
